PRODUCTION DESCRPTION

For potentiometers (or trimmer resistors, etc.) regular pins (for example, a potentiometer with 3 pins), the resistance value of the two ends is fixed, and the resistance value of the middle pin to either end pin is variable;

It is equivalent to dividing the potentiometer into two series resistors from the middle pin, and the total series resistance value is fixed;

Therefore, if it is used as a variable voltage divider resistor, one end is connected to the input voltage, the middle end is connected to the output, and the remaining end is grounded;

If it is used as a variable resistor, one end is connected to the input voltage, the middle end is connected to the output, and the rest can be left floating, or connected to the middle end.

Advantages of trimmer potentiometers

This potentiometer is a little different from other potentiometers. First of all, its size is very small and it is very easy to store. If you are afraid of a problem with a certain circuit in your home, you can store a few more. The cost of this kind of potentiometer is very low, but the effect is very large, so most of the power switches now use semi-variable potentiometers. However, the quality of the variable potentiometer is relatively good, the life span can be as long as three or four years, and it can also adjust various problems of the circuit by itself.
